SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 18, 2026) — A leading environmental industry publication will present TechLaw with a 2025 Business Achievement Award for its booming book of work providing expertise and insight to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) at dozens of Superfund remediation sites across the country.

Environmental Business Journal® will honor TechLaw with a Business Achievement Award—Mid-Sized Firms, for being the only contractor to win more than 50 Task Order awards—valued at more than $60 million—under U.S. EPA’s Remedial Acquisition Framework-Environmental Services and Operations (RAF-ESO) program. The award will be presented at the EBJ Environmental Industry Summit XXIV on April 2 in San Diego.

“We are proud to receive this recognition for the outstanding technical work our team has been doing in so many places for EPA over the last several years,” said TechLaw Consultants, Inc., Chief Operating Officer Patricia Derocher. “It’s truly important for the environment, and we thank EBJ for recognizing us and so many others who work so hard in our industry.”

Launched in 2018, the RAF-ESO contract is open to 21 qualified small-businesses with 1,000 or fewer employees—including TechLaw—to compete nationwide on individual task orders to support EPA Superfund cleanup programs via technical oversight work, including field work and analytical support, remedy operations (including long-term response actions), and preliminary assessment/site investigation activities. TechLaw has been awarded 54 such task orders.

In citing TechLaw and several other environmental firms, Journal Editor and chair of the EBJ Business Achievement Award Selection Committee, Grant Ferrier, congratulated the award winners for persevering and succeeding in a challenging business climate.

“A number of companies distinguished themselves with business model evolution, new practices, technical innovation, M&A, or signature projects that merit the special recognition,” Ferrier said. “Pivoting with political change and overcoming the multiple challenges of inflation, supply chains, wage increases, labor shortages and changing markets has almost become routine for the resilient leaders in the environmental industry.”

Environmental Business Journal has been providing strategic market intelligence to executives and investors in 13 business segments of the environmental industry since 1988.
